Gulmit in upper Hunza. The town has been cut off from rest of the world as a part of road has been submerged in Atabad lake formed by landslide in 2010.
This is how Rakaposhi looks from the top of the mountain, right opposite her! This mountain can be scaled from Nasirabad and Hassanabad however we started the trek from our home in Nasirabad. The meadows at the top are called Hachinder where the cattle and shepherds of Nasirabad spend most of their summer.
The day#11 was here and we prepared to take a journey to the highest point which was Khunjrab Pass. We were told beforehand that it was impossible for bicycles to reach Khunjrab because of the high elevation of the road. We decided to visit pass on a motorbike.
Gupis town stands beside giant mountain which stands tall right above it. The river is just 300m away from the road making the town a beautiful and peaceful.
